Cont. With many castles offering exclusive use for a day or even a weekend, many couples hold both ceremony and reception there. Some have beautifully restored private chapels where the ceremony can take place, others offering exquisite public rooms for the exchange of vows, or recommending local churches. Check if the venue holds a civil license if you'd prefer a non-religious ceremony, as the castle may be located far from a registry office. Ask too about kitchen facilities: some castles operate similarly to hotels, discussing menus to be prepared in-house to your requirements, while others require independent caterers (and perhaps even mobile kitchens) to be brought in. And do make sure there are sufficient loos (and cloakroom space) to go round! Our online directory (see search bar above) has around 500 venues ranging from fairytale turrets, tiny chapels and crumbling walls to restored barrel vaulted halls and grand staircases... this is the stuff of which wedding dreams are made. Use our enquiry service to find out exactly what each castle has to offer. Above: Drumtochty Castle 01561 320 169 |
